Municipal Building Available for Residents without AC during Office Hours this week due to Extreme Heat Conditions

Attention Alexandria Residents: If you need some relief from the heat, you are more than welcome to come to the Municipal Office during office hours to enjoy the AC. Our Municipal Building is open:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Thursday - 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (also the Bridge Club comes to play from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM so you are more than welcome to stay cool and play some cards as well with some Township Resident card sharks.)
Friday - 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Situation Summary

A Heat Advisory is now in effect for portions of the region for Tuesday through Wednesday night due to heat indices of 95-100 degrees during the afternoon and early evening. An Excessive Heat Watch remains in effect for Wednesday through Saturday, but has now been extended into Sunday. This Watch covers the same area as the advisory to highlight the anticipated long duration of excessive heat impacts into this weekend.
The excessive heat will build through this week with the most significant impacts occurring at the end of the week into the weekend. The excessive heat will continue through Sunday, with a cold front possibly not moving through until Monday of next week. Heat indices should reach or exceed 100 degrees for many areas Thursday through Sunday.
